According to an analysis released by Barlovento Comunicación, this figure is the greatest ever reached by pay-TV channels, with Spaniards generally choosing free-to-air (FTA) TELEVISION.
And there is no doubt that audience figures are straight driven by an increasing number of subscribers. Pay-TV figures are still far below those for FTA. There are no pay-TV agents among the 50 most seen broadcasts of 2016, all which come from Atresmedia, Mediaset and the general public broadcaster RTVE.
